Get clients who already want to work with you before they even reach out
A brand shoot for businesses that need help turning their ideas, goals and services into useful visual content
For Businesses in Ballarat, Melbourne & Yarra Valley
You know your business needs better photos and videos?
But knowing that and knowing exactly what to photograph are two completely different things.
Maybe you have a new website being built, but you are not sure which images each page actually needs.
Maybe you want to launch a service, run a campaign or explain what you do, but you have a loose collection of ideas rather than a clear shoot plan.
Or maybe you love the natural feel of my Captured While You Work sessions, but your service cannot simply be photographed on an ordinary workday.
Clients need to be organised. Locations need to be chosen. Parts of the experience need to be recreated. Props need to be sourced. A schedule needs to exist so you are not standing around on the day wondering what comes next.
That is where a planned brand shoot comes in.
A Brand Shoot With More Thought Behind It
A traditional brand shoot does not have to mean standing against a blank wall with your arms crossed.
And it definitely does not mean filling your gallery with fifty slightly different photos of you smiling at a laptop.
Your shoot can still feel candid, relaxed and grounded in what your business is actually like.
The difference is that we do more work before the camera comes out.
I help you work through what the content needs to communicate and how we can realistically capture it. Planning out ideas, locations, props and shots if need be.
The final shoot is planned around your business, your audience and what you want the content to help you achieve.

What We Can Create
Every brand shoot is different because every business is trying to communicate something different.
Your shoot might focus on:
- The experience of working with you
- Your services, treatments or processes
- Your physical space or location
- Your products in use
- Founder and team portraits
- Behind-the-scenes moments
- Client or customer interactions
- Educational or sales-focused video
- A campaign or service launch
- Website hero images and supporting imagery
- Social media photo and video content
- Testimonials or interviews
- A short brand documentary
- A library of content for future marketing
Sometimes that means one carefully planned half-day shoot. or it means several locations, a full production schedule and content captured across multiple days.
The scope is built around what your business actually needs.
What the Planning Process Can Include
Depending on the project, your brand shoot may include:
Pre-Shoot Strategy Meeting
We start by talking through your business, the reason for the shoot and where the content will be used.
We can discuss:
- The services or products you need to communicate
- Your target clients
- What people need to understand before they enquire
- Your current marketing and content gaps
- Upcoming launches or campaigns
- Website requirements
- The feeling you want the content to create
- The practical realities of organising the shoot
This gives us a clear direction before we start creating ideas.
Online Presence and Content Review
When useful, I can review your website, social media and existing content to see what you already have and what is missing.
You may not need an entirely new gallery of generic brand photos.
You might need a strong homepage image, better service imagery, updated team photos, a clear explainer video and a few months of varied social content.
The planning process helps us identify those gaps before you spend money creating content you do not need.
Creative Direction and Moodboard
A moodboard helps us agree on the visual direction of the shoot.
This may include references for lighting, locations, styling, composition, movement, colours and the overall feeling of the finished content.
It gives everyone involved a shared understanding of what we are creating.
Shot List and Scene Planning
Rather than relying on a vague list like “photos of the team” or “some candid working shots”, we map out the scenes that will help communicate your business.
That could mean showing:
- A client arriving
- The consultation process
- The service being delivered
- Important details clients may not usually see
- The finished result
- The way your team interacts
- Different uses of a product
- The environment and overall experience
We still leave room for natural moments to happen. The shot list gives the day structure without making every image feel stiff or over-directed.
Location Planning and Scouting
Your usual workplace may be perfect.
Or we may need to photograph at a client site, hire a studio, use an outdoor location or move between several spaces.
Location support can include researching options, assessing lighting and access, checking whether the space suits the planned scenes and working out the most efficient order for the day.
Styling and Prop Support
You do not necessarily need a stylist and a van full of props.
But small details can make a significant difference.
Depending on your shoot, I can help you think through clothing, colours, tools, products, furniture, signage, flowers, packaging or other items that help the content feel like your business.
For more involved productions, additional stylists, hair and makeup artists or other creatives can be brought into the project.
The Shoot Itself Can Still Feel Natural
Planning does not mean every second of the shoot is posed.
My approach is still built around natural movement, real interactions and creating images that feel like your business.
Some scenes may be lightly directed so the right people, actions and details are in place.
Once everything is set up, I can step back and capture what happens.
You will not be expected to perform for the camera all day or hold a fake smile while I take the same photo twenty times.
The planning creates the conditions for genuine moments to happen.
Brand Shoots Are Custom Quoted
There is no flat price because the amount of work involved can vary significantly.
A straightforward half-day shoot at one location with a planning meeting and an edited photography gallery is very different from a multi-day project involving location scouting, interviews, props and several completed videos.
After an initial conversation, I will recommend a scope based on:
- What you need to create
- Where the content will be used
- The amount of planning required
- Photography and video deliverables
- Shoot length
- Number of locations
- Number of people involved
- Editing requirements
- Additional crew or suppliers
- Travel requirements
You will receive a clear quote outlining what is included before you commit.

About Me
I’m Tahlia, a brand and event photographer + Videographer based in Victoria.
I work with businesses owners and marketing managers who want photos and video that actually show what it feels like to work with them.
Because anyone can say they create a supportive space, deliver high-quality work, or care deeply about their clients, but photography and video helps people actually see it and believe it.
How the process works
Give me your brain dump
Got a a full creative brief? Plan for a new website? a campaign idea? or dont really know just know you need better photos and video, but we have no idea where to begin.
We talk through the project
We pretend we’re finance bros and talk business. Your goals, what you want to create, how the content will be used and the level of support you need.
From there, I recommend a scope for the project.
The shoot is planned
Depending on what was discussed, this may involve meetings, moodboards, location planning, shot lists, schedules, props, styling and coordinating other people involved.
Don’t worry, most of all that is done by me, you can just sit and look pretty like you always do.
We capture it and you get your gallery
On the day, I guide the shoot while keeping the overall experience relaxed and fun.
Your finished photography, clips and any completed video edits are delivered through a private online gallery.
Then we celebrate because yay this is so much fun!
This Isn’t For Everyone, And That’s Fine
You’re a fit if:
- You want the content to be planned around a clear business or marketing goal
- You need help turning loose ideas into an achievable shoot
- You want natural photography without leaving the entire day to chance
- You need content covering several services, people or parts of the business
- You are willing to put some time into the planning process
- You want photography and video that can be used across more than one platform
- You need a photographer who can contribute ideas
You’re probably not a fit if:
- You only need a few quick headshots
- You want to recreate another brand’s campaign exactly
- You want an entire production planned without being involved in the process
- You need the cheapest possible way to get a large number of generic images
- You want a more chill and candid style of shoot for a content refresh (go to my captured while you work session)
