Retreat & Experience Photography in Victoria and Across Australia

Without pulling people out of what they’re there for.
Without making the day feel staged or interrupted.

Photo and video coverage for retreats, workshops and hosted experiences

I photograph and film small-group retreats, wellness events, workshops and hosted experiences across Melbourne, regional Victoria and Australia.

This includes yoga retreats, women’s retreats, sound baths, meditation sessions, creative workshops, photography workshops, cooking experiences, travel experiences and other intimate events where the atmosphere matters just as much as the schedule.

You get photos and short-form video that help people understand what your experience actually feels like, without turning the day into a production.

For retreats and experiences that need calm, unobtrusive photography

This is for events that are usually more personal, immersive and intentionally held.

If people are coming for connection, learning, rest, creativity, movement or personal growth, the way your event is captured really matters.

Because photos and videos can look nice, but they can’t become the focus of the event. They need to show what it actually feels like to be there.

The whole point is that people forget I’m there

When you’re holding space for a group, the last thing you need is a photographer making the room feel weird.

I work in a way that is respectful, low-key and aware of what’s happening around me.

That looks like:

Silent camera mode when the room needs quiet

Cameras make a shutter sound every time a photo is taken.

Mine can be switched to silent mode.

So during sound baths, meditations, sharing circles, slow movement, teaching moments or times where someone is speaking, I can photograph without the click-click-click pulling people out of the moment.

Shoes off when needed

Shoes can be too loud.

Especially in rooms with timber floors, yoga studios, halls or any space where small sounds carry.

If shoes are going to distract people, I take them off and work in socks.

Very glamorous…very practical.

Flash with intention, or not at all

I mostly work with natural light.
If flash would feel harsh, distracting or uncomfortable, I don’t use it.

There are times where flash can be helpful, especially for evening details, group shots or more social parts of the event, but it is never the default.

The experience comes first.

Zoom lenses so I don’t need to be in everyone’s space

I use multiple lenses, including zoom lenses, so I can capture close, intimate-feeling moments from further away.

That means I can document someone laughing, listening, moving, creating or being guided without physically standing right beside them.

Because “getting the shot” should not mean invading someone’s personal space.

The guest experience comes first. Always.

Before I start photographing, I make sure people know who I am and why I’m there.

At the beginning of the event, I’ll usually introduce myself, explain what I’m doing and check who is comfortable being photographed.

And if that changes throughout the day, that’s completely okay.

I don’t treat consent like a one-time checkbox. I pay attention throughout the day.

I know when to put the camera down

Not every moment needs to be photographed.

If someone is sharing something vulnerable, emotional or deeply personal, I don’t keep shooting just because it might make a “powerful image”.

Sometimes the most respectful thing I can do is put the camera down.

Your guests should feel like they can still be fully in the experience, not like every feeling is being turned into content.

Part of the group, not a random person hovering in the corner

During breaks, meals and more casual parts of the day, I’ll chat with people.

Enough that I become an actual person in the space, not a stranger with a camera around the edge of the room.

This helps people relax.

They know who I am.
They know what I’m doing.
They know I’m not there to catch them looking awkward.

That trust makes a huge difference to the final photos.

Natural coverage, with a few useful planned moments

Most of the day is captured as it unfolds.

But I also know that you need content you can actually use afterwards.

So where it makes sense, we can plan a few quick moments for future promotion.

Things like:

  • a clean photo of you facilitating
  • natural portraits of you in the space
  • a few detail shots for your next event page
  • simple vertical clips for Reels or Stories
  • group photos
  • venue and atmosphere shots for future marketing

Photo and video coverage at the same time

I can capture photography and short-form video across the same event.

That means I’m not constantly running back and forth, swapping gear, making the day feel clunky or asking everyone to repeat the same thing for video.

You can receive a mix of edited photos and video clips that are ready to use across socials, websites, email campaigns and future event promotion.

This is especially helpful for retreat hosts and facilitators who need to keep showing the experience after everyone has gone home.

Because one event can give you months of useful content.

Use your content for:

  • website pages
  • retreat launches
  • Instagram posts
  • Reels and Stories
  • email campaigns
  • Google Business Profile
  • newsletters
  • future event promotion

How it works in practice

Before your event
Before the day, I’ll get a clear understanding of:

  • what kind of retreat, workshop or experience you’re hosting
  • where it is being held
  • how many guests are attending
  • what parts of the day are more private or sensitive
  • who is comfortable being photographed
  • what moments are most important to document
  • whether you need photo, video or both
  • how you want to use the content afterwards
  • any colours, clothing or brand details to keep in mind

This helps me walk in prepared, without needing to interrupt you all day.

On the day
I arrive early, get a feel for the space and work with the flow of the event.

Most of the time, I stay low-key.

I’ll move around gently, use silent camera mode where needed, avoid flash unless it actually makes sense, and read the room as the day unfolds.

If we’ve planned a few promotional shots or clips, I’ll guide those simply and quickly so they don’t take over the event.

After your event
After the event, you’ll receive your edited gallery and any included video clips, depending on the package you choose.

Your content can then be used across your website, social media, email marketing, retreat launches, Google Business Profile, newsletters and future event promotion.

When it’s captured properly, you’re not just getting a gallery from one day.

You’re getting content you can use for your next launch, your website, your emails, your social posts and the moments where someone is trying to work out if your experience is right for them.

Investment & Packages

Coverage is based on the length, location and type of event. I offer flexible options for shorter workshops, one-day retreats, full-day experiences and multi-day programmes.

Optional add-ons may include:

  • short-form video clips
  • faster turnaround
  • Polaroids
  • additional coverage time
  • multi-day retreat coverage

A photographer you can trust with your space

I work with facilitators and hosts who create events built on presence, care, and connection. Some may invite me in for a single gathering. Some choose to work together over time as their offerings grow and evolve.

As we work together, I become familiar with your rhythm, your values, and the way you hold space. That familiarity allows the photography to feel quieter and more intuitive, creating images that reflect the experience without disrupting it. The result is documentation that feels aligned, respectful, and true to what you’re offering.
