Belgrave Big Dreams Renfair in the Hills
This event was part of the monthly Belgrave Big Dreams Market, organised by the Yarra Ranges Defrosted youth team.
The day featured roaming ren-fair performers, free face painting, and—most importantly—six stallholders aged between 16 and 25 showcasing their creativity and skills.
Because the event was council-affiliated, there were restrictions on using photos that showed identifiable faces without written consent. That meant I needed to find creative ways to capture the atmosphere, connection, and energy of the day without relying too heavily on portraits. My focus was on details, interactions, and the overall community spirit that made the event so memorable.
Events like this not only bring more people to the Yarra Ranges but also highlight the talent, craft, and energy of young makers in the hills. It was a privilege to document such a vibrant community space.
