Creative Intersections opening night

In December 2024 I had the privilege of photographing the opening night of the Creative Intersections program at the ACMI Centre in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

This program showcases work from students across various courses while providing a networking opportunity and promoting awareness of the Swinburne courses.

This event was held across 4 different rooms in the ACMI building. The event comprised of two sit down presentations, a free-roaming exhibition, and refreshments/ networking space. So there were a few different aspects I needed to cover.

The main exhibition space proved to have some challenging lighting as the room was entirely lit with dim purple lights, which looks lovely in person, but quite the opposite in images. I was able to bring back the dimension in the post production whilst still showcasing the vivid colour to accurately document the evening.

If you’re looking for a Melbourne event photographer to capture your next event, corporate gathering, or student showcase, I’d love to discuss how I can help bring your vision to life.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tahlia was delightful to deal with. She's a patient photographer, making it easy to relax in front of the camera. She took images of me, my work and my art studio (for the upcoming Dandenong Ranges Open Studios event in March 2026), capturing all of these elements cleverly in context. Thanks for all your efforts, Tahlia. I look forward to working with you next year!

From the moment she arrived, everything just clicked. It’s not often you find someone who gets your vision straight away, but we found our match. Her attention to detail, creativity, and easygoing energy made the whole experience effortless. Highly recommend her for anyone needing professional photography done right! 📸

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tahlia is an exceptional photographer! I have been so impressed by Tahlia's professionalism and with how well Tahlia brought our vision to life. I received this feedback from a colleague on one of the photos that Tahlia took, and it speaks for itself: "Oh my gosh.. that second photo, is maybe the nicest photo anyone has taken of anyone before... That is spectacular! These are absolutely perfect"

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am delighted to write this review of Tahlia Heitmann at Half Glass Studios following the recently established website she has created for me. I wanted something elegant, simple and affordable to archive and publicise my greater body of artwork and other relevant information about me as an artist. Securing Tahlia's services was the best decision. Tahlia was completely professional throughout the whole process. She listened closely to my thoughts on website layout allowing me to feel in control of the whole aesthetics and format of the website during its creation. In our face to face appointments Tahlia was always punctual and was able to customize the site to my specific requirements. Her sense of design is very mature where she quickly grasped the concepts and feel of my artwork to showcase it in its most favourable light. Tahlia's followup accessibility was most appreciated as I learned how to manage the site. She solved issues promptly to make it all work. I am so pleased with the end result and highly recommend her to others.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had an amazing photoshoot with Tahlia today, she’s such a pro. Had a boudoir shoot and Tahlia just made us all so comfortable! This girl gets all the angles and lighting down to a T to make sure it’s the best results. Can’t wait to see the finish product, definitely worth checking out her website for some already done projects🧡🩷
